electrical probs 1992 16V
« on: 11 January 2004, 14:01 »
Hi,

This morning the Indicator warning light on dash board remains on but very faint even when the indicators arn't engaged.

This morning the alarm went off for no reason i disconnected the battery then reconnected it, then all dash lights were staying illuminated even without the ignition being on also the fuel pump was engaged at the same time. It became very difficult to remain running during this time.

Its a bit of a puzzle as i've never had any problems before. I've owned the car since new too.

Any ideas or suggestions?

From what you've just said I would get the alarm looked at first as this no doubt is wired into the indicator circuit and makes them flash when armed or unarmed.

Also the fact that the fuel pump is playing up could be alarm related as a lot of them disable the circuit so that the car wont start.

The alarm and the indicators started playing up on the same morning so check the alarm first. Might be more than just coincidence.
