why is oak green so popular? (newbie-q)

Lots of people have a love for "British Racing Green" type colours, it's iconic I guess and there are rarer colours out there.

At no point did I say that oak green was BRG ! But you can't tell me that they're a million miles apart. What have you been taking Len ? British Racing Green can be a colour on any car can't it, be it German, Jap, Maltese, it's a description of a colour. I made no comparison to german or british cars. Apple white does not mean that apples are white does it !
