another newbie here!
we have a F-reg black mk2 syncro, with us since new. various other cars have come and gone, but this has stayed as it's been the best drive on our narrow lanes, sometimes frosty, altho i thought it sooo teutonic after the uno-turbo it replaced. (you don't see any of those around now, do you?)
and yes...i am a grey haired old lady, and totally non-teccie!
