I'm an IT Contractor at a large merchant bank in the City... Basically get shouted at by traders in the ferrarris and lambo's all day!

 I've heard it can be quite an abusive environment to work in - working on the IT systems of a bank in the City...  and stressful too as they don't tolerate any mistakes - or is that a myth?  By the way, I am an IT contractor in Telecoms R&D/Testing - much less stressful.

I'm lucky because where I am they are all a relaxed bunch, well mostly.  I've also been doing this for over 10 years so I'm pretty thick skinned (some people will just say "thick") 

I have heard horror stories at other banks where IT people have been marched off the premises because they have screwed up. It's very much in extreme cases though.
