help needed with power steering

can anyone help with this annoying problem and possibly dangerous !!!
when it is wet and im turning corners the power steering on my mk3 golf gti goes really stiff and actually feels at times like the steering locks up. quite un nervingly at times and could be quite dangerous, can anyone help or has anyone had this happen to them ??

replace the belt, and if that don't help make sure your PAS splash guards are fitted!
