Hi there, has anybody out there successfully completed a 2.0 16v swap into a mk1 if so can you explain to me where you've located the airbox. Mine is from the 1.8 mk1 gti and has been subjected to some dodgy chopping and is sat on the drivers side of the engine bay but after looking at some pictures it seems as though most people have located it on passenger side behind the battery. If anyone can help do you know where i can get all the correct parts to do this?

The easiest place to put it is on the driver side chassis leg, with modifications to the lower half. The reason for this is finding a Scirocco 16v inlet manifold which allows it to be mounted in the MK1 factory location isn't easy, and when you do find one they cost a bomb!
Just keep it on the driver side
