A question for the nerds!

Would my H plate (1990) big bumper digi engined 8V GTI have had central locking as standard? mine doesnt have it. nor does it have elec windows or power steering.... 

just wondering if the 8V had reduced standard spec levels compared to the 16V.

I recently had a 5 door mark 2 8v on a G plate that didnt have central locking or electric windows but thats strange that you dont have power steering coz you should have that

i cant see any power steering pump/fluid resevoir though. anyone show me where its meant to be on this pic?

i think it was just the realy late 8v that came with stuff as standard. most were options. my car came with sweet fanny adams originally! in the top pic, if you look at the radiator cowling, just above it and to the right is a rectangular plastic bottle and if you look under the alternator you can see different brackets and an extra belt. ie the top pic has power steering.

We've got a '91 H 8v big bumper Digi - which has PAS and e/w, but no central locking.
Is it something of a lottery? Or were these options when the cars were new?

by the looks of things, both engines need timing belt covers !!!??

thanks guys  i obviously ended up with poverty spec again. at least it has rainbow interior and big bumpers. and it goes.

the best spec car i ever had was my '90 XR2i with central locking, remote boot pop and elec windows

Just to let you know that my 8v  1989 G gti , Digi 3 door does not have ,central locking ,PAS, E/w or Alloys.
      So your not alone with what you have . But it has Big Bumpers ,fogs & Sunroof. And i love it.
