I think people use different products but I've heard good things about Genolite, just don't expect it to get rid of rust (regardless of what it says on the tin !). I would use it to paint on the bare metal thats left once you've ground out the rust, leave it for a while to go off and check it every few days and if your happy the rust ain't coming back get it sanded and undercoated. This isn't exactly the ideal time of year to do these kind of things but it helps if you've got a garage so you can keep the car as dry as possible and obviously don't leave any untreated part open to the elements !

I always found Trustan to be very good at removing the rust :)

A little bottle i have of rust converter! Paint it on, well, it's like water not paint. Anyway, apply it and it removes the rust! Its pretty good stuff. Only prob is, i did it once, took all the paint off the surrounding area, sanded it back etc... did the trustan, and it was all bare metal ready to paint, so i went to bed, and it was rusty again in the morning

It's belgian can't recall the name I'll get it later on, it goes on like copydex white liquid, then turns any rust blue then purple then black.  I also have Waxoyl to spray on the behind of the panels that have rusted.
