Revs: @9000 rpm
vtec: starts working @5500 rpm
Max speed: 105-110 mph

i guess the vr needs to go on a diet and more power.

the mini actually belongs to a friend of mine, and i thought the power to weight would be the main factor in this topic. but at lest i have top end speed over the mini, its a sham i cant go over 70mph

I reckon the mini would tear strips off the VR6 until you get above 100mph (not that any body on here ever drives that quick on the public highway ), then the six cylinders would show their power!

Power to Weight is where its at for me.. and who drives at over 100mph on a regular basis

any way my dad is building mini with an 8V 1600 astra engine with 13inch wheels metro turbo brakes ect.
power wise looking at 90ish which dont sound a great deal, but the thing is soo low to the deck and going to have sooo much grip on the 13x7 inch rims it going to be sooo much fun to drive.

He has decided to do a Vtec next but they are MUCH more expensive a whole engine/car ect for the transplant cost more than this current one is costing i reckon

Power weight as above. Mini for me. I take it this is the Yamaha R1 engine that is being used as the power unit. Awesome conversion.
