Mk3 Dash/Speedo lights

Does any know if on the Mk3 when you turn the lights on should the digital milage light up like the clock does? if so and it doesnt whats it mean is it a fuse, im presuming not as everything lights up, so i thinking a buld or lcd?

There is either a green LED or a bulb under a green diffuser behind the display. It is supposed to light up, mine does. I suggest either a loose connection or a blown bulb! Take it apart and have a look. I am converting all my illumination to 12v Red soon!
