Cracked windscreen...

Hello.

Has anyone had windscreen just crack by itself?? i have 1998 Golf GTI T. car was parked at work all day and when i got in her at 17.30 i have a crack about 8" long in lower drivers side of the windscreen!! no impact marks, no scuffs, no paint damage nothing!! checked CCTV and the camras picked up nothing? weather was bit foggy, not patricularly cold or hot, can't understand it ??!!

mine cracked overnight once around where the rear view mirror is attached, got it sorted the same day for £50 on the insurance.

pain in the @rse isn't it, think i'll be doing the same topher, luckily got my no claims bonus protected and don't think many insurance companies are too bothered about windscreen claims, so just hope the whole thing doesn't fall in on me until i get it sorted.

Yeh happened to me too. I was actually driving though, but was very unprovoked. Suddenly just cracked wen i was creeping along and i know for sure nothing hut it. Insurance company fixed it (RAC Winscreens did the work) no quibbles at all. Took a week to come and do it though. But it didn't effect my Claims bonus at all.

£60 fix on monday while i'm at work, won't have any impact on my no claims, so not too bad after all

Mine cracked as a rock hit it on the motorway  :shocked:
£50 later and i had a new windscreen  :wink:

My boyfriends vectra had a cracked windscreen at the begining of the year and that just suddenly happened for know reason tho..
