anather problem this time with water
« on: 13 October 2006, 17:12 »
Hi I have just change my engine, actually just the block and gearbox and leave me head .fit a new gasket, timing belt etc.

I have sort out the problem with "lost spark" and start the engine today .
After a while the temperature goes up to 90*C and the water start coming out on the side of the water tank . I just wanted to cry. I’ve got enough of this car already and yep one more problem. I have let it cool, refill the water and start the engine, happened again at 80*C

Does anyone know what could be happened?

The header tank?

Did you leave the cap off the expansion tank while running the engine up to temperature? If so this would be normal. Fill up and put the cap on. Then see what happens.

I guessed about language probs!

duff = no good, broken, useless.

You may just have an air lock. Run the engine to hot a couple of times and refill water each time.  Have you bled the heater hoses? Should be a bleed valve back there somewhere!
