Oh dear ! That didn't last long did it until I've really got to spend some money on my Rallye ! I got in it last night and started it up and she sounded like a bag of spanners, so I open the bonnet to see sparks flying about as the alternator fan is scraping against some of the metal at the side. I've no idea how this happened as it was ok when I left it yesterday morning, but AA man seems to think that it's somehow worked loose over time and gradually it's gained more play in it and so it's fooked. It was a new, genuine (lots of £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£s) one as well. I'm not sure if the alternator itself is knacked or just the external fan and pulley that the belt sits on. It's awaiting my garage to pick it up from my parents house to get it sorted.

I think I'm more miffed that what's gone wrong is a part that has only just been replaced so is relatively new.

On the plus side, there were a few problems that I already knew about that I'm now going to ask them to do while its in there, so I've asked them to give it a full waxoyl for the winter, to look at the whining wheel bearing and to check out the blow on the exhaust. I'm trying not to let my enthusiasm slip, but after some probs in the summer with my cab it's starting to wear thin.

Still, onwards and upwards eh ! :afro:
