MAF'S?

are they the same on gti and vr6 mk3 golfs? any help would be good as im trying to trouble shoot without spending too much money! i have a 2.0 8v gti and a vr6. the vr is having the problems so just wanted to see if i can use the gti 1 to try as a tester?

No idea about swapping the MAF's sorry!
But would say check all the breather hoses before you do anything else!

rang gsf today and to put another spanner in the works they dont do the maf sensor for my car!  :huh: apparently they only do it for the 97 vr onwards but not mine? so what to do now? has anyone got a spare or any clue whether a k-plate gti maf will fit on my vr6 which is only a year newer???? help!!!!  :wink:

The gti 8v one wont fit, the VR6 sensor is completly different!

right thats buggered that idea up then  :grin: i took the vr6 one to bits earlier and gave all the connections and other bits between the mesh a good clean up,put it all back together and fook me for the 1st time in a long while it sounded like a vr! i aint been brave enuff to go for a test drive yet,due to living in the middle of nowhere and all the garages shut at 5.30 which would leave me stranded somewhere all nite! will let u know how i get on,but on the safe side,i am still looking for a maf just incase!  :wink:
