Blimey Dinx haven't you been asking this one for like the last two winters???
Haven't you bought one yet!!!

A couple of years ago I just used a cover from argos (£25) with a fabric lining for the whole winter. That was fine and didn't damage the paint, I did have to tie it down round the wheels though as it blew away a couple of times.

Last year I bought a party tent like the one we had at E38 before it blew away.
I put that up on the drive last November and bolted it down and stored my car in that last winter. I had intended to take it down in the spring but kinda didn't get round to it and it's still standing today. It's a great makeshift cheap garage if you got room and my car has stayed a lot cleaner living in it through the summer.
I think my mate Andy said he saw them for £80 somewhere recently, I can check where if you like?

yes i have..and have a found a decent one?! no! so dont u bloody start austin!
ive tried both the ones from argos...the more expensive one i got my mother to customise so it sat snug around the car, althou i did have extra ties cos like u say, wen the wind gets underneath it, can take it straight off..

the only thing that worries me about the tent/gazebo type thing is the attention it may attract as my car is all fenced off, two huge doors but would probably be able to see a tent from the side..
plus it would block the view of the cctv.. :undecided:

oh the problems these bloody cars bring!

Hmmm yeah you wouldn't want to attract attention to your car and end up with it damaged, that would defeat the point. I'm lucky with being at the end of a road with no passers-by, mind you I left the keys in my car all weekend once on my drive, doubt anybody even noticed. You can just see my tent peeking round the corner of my house in my righthand sig pic.

Have you considered one of those things that is on a metal frame and folds/unfolds over the top of your car but doesn't actually touch it???

think they might be on the pricey side though :(

Yeah I was meant to build one of those last year.............but bought a camper instead!!!
I've promised myself I must build one next year

Aye Dinx, a carport!!! It's usually a lean-to structure that you slap on the side of your house over the drive. A few fence posts some wood and some clear corrugated roofing and job's a good'un. Of course it's  never that simple hence I keep putting it off.

How about renting a garage from the council.  I had to do it it keep the price of the insurance down.  No point in fitting extra locks though, it will add the much un-needed attention.

Cheers
