Perhaps this is how I say Hi!
« on: 01 October 2006, 12:45 »
Hi guys did reply to another post, but just to make sure here goes again.Used to have Mk2 8v which was a real dog but got me to work 45 mile away every day rain or shine for two years and for a measly sum £300 I had a lot of fun.So coming up to date, last jan I stumbled across a mk3 2l 8v with 62k on the clock and only 2 owners with fsh and almost mint for  1500  so I just couldn't resist (well could you?).Anyway is it me or was my old 8 valver faster than this latest model? I dunno maybe its years of riding sports bikes, even my mates new type r doesn't feel that quick. So I'll be troubling you guys for advise on how to eek out a little more power.Well Hello I'm Dave and have been in the trade in one way or another ever since leaving school and still love my motors although the horses and kids and pub (lastest business) do eat into my car enjoyment time and as time goes on the cars become less fierce and more family. But every now and again fate helps me out and i manage to inject a little bit of fun back into my motoring.

hello and welcome

the mark 3 is a heavier car with pretty much the same power as the mark 2 which is why it feels slower. But As said I am sure the mark 3 section can advise you on any performance upgrades

Hi welcome to the site..... I must state the mk3 is rarther lardy and this makes them slower than the mk2 and handle worse....
First thing to mod on a mk3 is the air filter and exhaust and then uprate the suspension, everbody has there own answer to best option's but my favourite is pipercross element and depending on how loud you want the exhaust I think jetex is quite and gives a nice power increase then go for the old favourite of boge shocker's and eibach spring's... should give a little more bhp but this will make your engine more lively and it will rev much better and with the suspension it will also corner at last!!!
