Hi from Liverpool!
« on: 29 September 2006, 17:29 »
Just looking for a good place to go to talk about my car and here I am!

I have an '02 Golf GT TDI 150, 3 door in Tornado Red.  I bought it from a Subaru dealer in July and have loved every moment with it ever since.

Except...

Before the Golf I had a Focus.  I have to say that the Focus is a brilliant car but I wanted a good pwered diesel and Ford never did one with the mk1.  Anyway, there were stereos being nicked from Focuses in our car park (something to do with the chip in the removable panel being used for free Sky...).  Mine was not done but decided to replace mine with a Sony to ward off thieves.

Anyway, the time came to trade up and I got my Golf and decided to replace the stereo with the one I bought for the previous car.  The trouble is that the speakers were cutting out all the time because they couldn't handle the power  :undecided:  So I bought four new Sonys and booked it into an alleged ICE specialist.  They need adapters but he only ordered the ones for the front so he fitted them BUT forgot to reconnect the interior door handles... I was not pleased   For weeks I had to get out of the car by winding the window down, open the door from the outside, wind the window up, take the key out and get out.  But he fixed it no fuss but still couldn't fit the rear speakers because the parts STILL hadn't arrived...

But that's not the fault of the car.  It's been fantastic.  I have to say I've never driven a car that is so good.  The amount of torque it produces is incredible.  You can overtake on the motorway even when somebody is approaching in the lane you want to go in you because it takes such a short time to match their speed.  It's handling is better than I expected though the steering is a little light.

Anyway, hope to chat to you all at some point!

I was waiting for a response like that... lol!

But saying that I've had two cars stolen here  :undecided:  The last one was a Focus when my keys were hooked from my house... not nice.

I keep a good eye on my baby so hopefully it'll be OK

No, they didn't!  But I've seen Holdcroft like that before oddly enough.  Just hope they honour my warranty still  :undecided:

But... my car is a cracker so I doubt there will be a problem!

By the way... here it is!
