My new homemade all red rears
« on: 25 September 2006, 15:15 »
Just finished doing these all red rears based on standard cl lights. They still need polishing up but i'll wait for the laquer to fully harden first.
Any thoughts?

I used "savage" red light tinting spray and then laquer on top. Basically, i masked off all the light except for the orangey bit then applied about 8 thin coats of the red spray leaving 30 mins between each coat and using a hairdryer before and after each coat to gently warm the surface.
I left these over night and added 3 coats of clear laquer in the same way the next day.
You can tell close up that they've been sprayed but i'm hoping a bit of polishing will sort that out.
The only problem is that they flash red but i'm aiming to overcome this by painting my bulbs yellow. I'll just have to make sure that i dont indicate at all if the feds are following me for the time being! lol!
