Suspension upgrade

Was thinking about getting the valver chipped. Thinking now that I wil save my money and upgrade the suspension. I have been looking at various websites and threads on this forum and am getting more and more confused!!!

I am definatly going to get eibach springs. But I think I will change the shocks while I am at it. I am a poor student so after spending £130 on the springs can't really afford much on the shocks. If I could I would go for the Koni's. Are there any other cheaper alternatives and where would I get them from??

Someone mentioned boge turbo dampers, but I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere.

Not really after top of the range shocks just something that wil give me a good ride quality and last a while.

Any help would be really great!!! :smiley: :smiley:

For boge try http://www.proven-products.co.uk/boge_shock_absorbers.htm or as an alternative euro sell bilstein black which are oe replacement's...

If I understand correct, Boge and Sachs were the shocker's that eibach used to develop their spring's so i guess if matched up to each other they will be the best option..

seems to be alot of different combinations of shocks/springs work in different ways, if your on a budget then there is some shocks/spring set ups on ebay for £130-150 from germany, not sure on the branding but over standard suspension they would give you a big improvement and olnly cost you roughly what youve said your willing to pay for springs alone, not sure on ride quality though....

im running spax i think, shocks and springs, not bad, back end seems very hard though

I have just euthanised my mk2 driver & got a p reg mk3 diesel as a daily hack...

The standard suspension after 125k miles is appalling  :shocked:, just boinging across the landscape like a drugged up out of control ZEBEDEE...

I plan on fitting the above mentioned german £130 suspension off ebay, along with cheap 15" rims and 195/50 15's. (already posted in parts wanted! (hint hint!))

Not trying to build a racecar, just want to stop attacking hedges, walls, sheep etc and put a smile on my face on the twisty bits coming down off the moor - has to be coming down not going up - is only an oilburner after all!

What else can be done on a very tight budget - roll bars , drop links, bushings etc?

I do support work for schools so am not exactly fabulously wealthy yet!
