Fuse Number for Fan motor..
« on: 05 January 2004, 08:34 »
Good Morning, first day back at work..  :(

Anyway just a quick question but i'll explain my problem first..

I've got a GTI 16v F plate

My car was over heating due to the fan being stuck in the housing of the heater system which burnt out the motor and the switch and may be the fuse so i put a new fan on and i think i have blown the fuse because after fitting the new parts the fan does not come on when it is supposed to which causes the car to over heat.. i'm thinking the fuse may have blown while fitting the new fan motor does any1 know the fuse number that refers to the fan motor..

Thanks,  ;)

Garry

Thank you for the replys!!

I just want say when i bought the new fan motor the connection had 3 spades for a 3 way plug to connect to it, now when i took the burnt out fan from the housing it only had a 2 pin connector so i phoned EURO car parts up and explained the problem, they said the middle spade is for the earth, the left spade is for a fast spin and the right spade is for a slow spin.

I used the left connection for the fast spin... ???

Has any1 every heard of this before??

Thanks...  ;)

How can you tell if the 30amp fuse has blowen, usually a fuse has a little connection which breaks when its blown!, the 30amp fuse doesn't

any idea's?
  ;)
Cheers,
