Exhaust rattle
«

Over the last few months I have had a annoying exhaust rattle coming from the front section of the exhaust. Over the past week it had got worse until yesterday on me way to work there was a large clunk and a part of me car fell off
and the rattle has gone
.
I was told it would have been the heat shield on the down pipe but is it alright using the car with no exhaust heat shield?

It will be the heatshield on the bulkhead, that protects the bulkhead from the heat from the down pipe. It will be fine to run the car without for a while, but get it fixed, as the heat can help cause the breakup and rust of the bulkhead.
