Mk2 Golf speedo 10mph faster then normal

Hi,

I've fitted a 2 litre 9A engine into my 16valve mk2 golf. I've also fitted a Corrado cable change gearbox (I believe it's a 02A model box).
The problem i'am having is that when i'am driving, the speedo is reading 10mph faster then what i'am actually doing. (i.e when doing 30mph, the speedo is showing 40mph).

I've narrowed it down that i have the wrong speedo drive that goes into the gearbox, that actually measures the speed. The cable and drive i'am using is what came with the second hand gearbox. So i'am guessing the previours owner must of used left hand drive spec drive that reads in kilometers per hour, hence giving the incorrect reading.

Would anyone know the part number for the correct drive that goes into the gearbox. I've taken pictures to show what i mean, and it's the item in black that i'am after.

Just a thought, if you have wheels and tyres that are not stock size they will have a different rolling radius and this will affect the speedo reading too! Maybe have a look at this wheel and tyre calculator

Surely not by that much though? Worth a go though, it's always the simplest thing that causes a head-scratching problem.
Back when I used to mess around with Mini's in my youth, you could get speedo's re-calibrated if you changed the size of the wheels. Obviously this isn't possible with the newest electronic speedos, but  the speedo on a mk2 is mechanical, right?
Has anyone else come accross this re-calibration anywhere these days?

Hey peeps, the car runs 195/50/15's so i dont think its anything to do with the rolling radius of the wheel/tyres.

Does anyone have ETKA to check and see if there are any other 'black' items with a different number of teeth?

Maybe you could try a Corrado forum and see if they have any idea about the correct drive to use?
