I took it off the road just before Christmas because head gasket went, and clutch was starting to slip. I bought a set of ATS cups from germany, single light grill, M3 rear lights, which I might change back (not liking them at the moment), a mangex system. And then started to think about the engine.
I bought a set of fast road rally Kent cams, had the head skimmed as far as it could go. I put new shells in the bottom end, new VW flywheel with C&G motor sport clutch. New gaskets belts, water pump etc. Painted up the block black and the gear box silver. Took me so long to finish because of money.
Just need to get some suspension, brakes, possibly cage and get a couple of dinks taken out. Taking it into work for an MOT later in the week and have got to do ignition timing ans sort out an inlet manifold air leak. So hopefully should be driving around pretty soon.
