Mk2 Golf Arches
« on: 19 September 2006, 03:28 »
Hi im Looking at making my arches wider, i have seen the g60 arches and i would prefer something a little wider :p i have seen some seriously wide 16's i want, The car is lowered 60mm, i had 195/50/15's on the front which rubbed slightly on the inner wing on full lock, and 205/50/15s on the back which rubbed on the arch over a bump. i now have stiff shocks so that isnt so much of a problem now unless i have a fully loaded car.
does anyone know of any wide arch kits other than G60 arches or would it be possible to get some made to the car (metal and color coded), if so where abouts (im in east sussex) and how much, im not bothered about color coding for now as im geting a respray soon.
I did see somewhere before a pic of a silver mk2 with rediculously wide wings and arches and i have not found it since.
Thanks in Advance

you will need to ring bodyshops and ask them how much they will pull a mk2 arches by, otherwise it will be a case of getting some SS ones made up and then weld them into the bodywork and then painted on top, either way, there is no larger wide arch kit (short of a rallye) for the mk2.

You will probably have to go to a classic car type bodyshop who can make wide wings from a new wing and then spray it and fit it, the rears are stuctural though and can be a ballache to chop it can be done, won't be cheap though :)

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

Nice kit and a rather hefty price tag clocking in at a whoping 2.5k for the bigger arched kit and the smaller kit isnt far off the 1.5k if i remember correct. I would love to do the really big arched kit but cant justify 2.5k on fibreglass lol
