RPM
« on: 13 September 2006, 20:27 »
Today at possibly the most busiest roundabout in Leeds (in morning rush hour) after queuing (stop start stop start) for about 200 meters, finally reached the roundabout and my revs dropped suddenly to 600rpm! Car started juddering and nearly cut out but managed to pull out onto the roundabout just in time so got revs back up. Then at the next set of traffic lights I stopped expecting the revs to still be low and they'd gone back up to 1000rpm.  any ideas?

Could just be the butterfly valve sticking on the throttle body, or possibly a little hole in one of the vacuum pipes, try spraying some WD40 over the throttle body, and also up the main air filter pipe leading into it, just to give it a little clean.

Carb proberly needs cleaning and resetting like they say all it takes is a vacum pipes to be split or leaking somewhere simple fixes just remeber to reset the manfold inlet flaps on the bottom of the carb before replacing all it takes is a knock and its outa line.
Does it kangaroo from start to load?

yeah carbs are only on non fuel injection! yours will have the metering head fitted witht the braded fuel lines which go to the injectors. have you had the engine tuned recently? could just need a good service and set up??  :undecided:
