Airbags when changing s/wheel

When changing the steering wheel 2 say a MOMO TEAM jobbie what happens to the airbag? Does it become redundant in the new wheel boss?Or does it still remain active?Enquiring minds need 2 know!!!!!!TA VERY MUCH

The airbag is the main centre part of the steering wheel, the part that sais "airbag", so once you remove that and then the steering wheel, it is redundant and certainly cant be fitted to an aftermarket wheel.     

Basicly, removing the steering wheel means removing the airbag...

Thanx very much Stu ,but now im in turmoil as in wot 2 do.Do i change the wheel or stik wiv the safe option?Anyway my interior is stock at the mo but the seats and cards are booked in for a coat of leather so i will decide when they are re-fitted!Again cheers mate!!!! :wink:

Personally I'd stick with an airbag, but that's just me (Happy enough with the stock wheel - I did replace mine as the leather was worn though).

If you ditch the airbag, then you'll need a small resistor to bridge the airbag connector, or the airbag light will be on permanently.  Not sure exactly what you'd need, but no doubt the interweb holds the answer somewhere  :undecided:

or fit the steering wheel of a late mk3 cab as these are a nice replacement with airbag.
