Last niggles, I Hope..

Well, it's all abck together and running, aligned the gears with a cassette and they fell in perfect, trying to get the idle to change wont work on the carb though.. well, it does, and the springs there, but atm its idling very lw, about 500 my mate suspects, so does the dizzy need timing? it's an old block in there, thats been sat around for years, may be out.. ive got a new cam and alt belt to go on as well so a full tune up in a garage is probably more than likely a good idea..

the other pronlem is with the brakes now, they are brand new discs and apds admittedly, so it might be why, but they take a lot of force to get on, you have to slam them right down to stop quite well, but even then theyre very gradual as if they arent even there, have they jsut not beeded in yet? is it worth emerypapering them a lil and brake cleaning the discs as theyve been sat bare for a time?

I would bleed them again to make sure and if the disc's and pads are both new they wont be that good for a while so take it easy with the braking for the next 60 - 80 miles and don't drive too close to anyone

haha quality will keep that in mind  my mate did say rub em a little to rough em up and make sure to clean the discs as theyve been bare to everything for a while, with no wheels on alas..

also a bit worried of it running hot, the fan cuts in very quick and often.. thinking it maybe due to the amount of rust thats rammed in the pipes, im tempted to go for a full course of RadFlush but it says dont let the fan cut in on that?

think my pierburg might be dead as well, the way it wont idle, maybe we end up trying to tune something that well, wont tune! my dad seems to like the idea of hitting it with a weber conversion, because theres the worry that the auto choke is sticking.. i was gonig to get soem carb cleaner and put that through the boy, as its been sat in the breakers for, months, maybe a year or 2, who knows..
