Golf GTI mk2 1992, 1.8 litre, 16v
« on: 06 September 2006, 18:59 »
Im looking at a Golf GTI mk2 1992, 1.8 litre, 16v. Its my mates brothers and is oak green, Its got 75k on the clock which is great for age and is in great condition. He is asking anything close to £1000. His dad is a mechanic with his own small business which does a lot of money so the golf has had the best of care with it as his dad would obviously go the extra mile for care with services and work. It will have 12 month MOT and full service. It's got a clifford alarm and a single wiper conversion (at the front obviously) and personalised licence plate (just random numbers and letters noting like kate or nothing lol)

What do you think of the mk2 1.8 litre 16's? does it sound like a good deal?

I would then spend £1200 on making it look a little nicer like, like better seats, blacked out windows etc.

Its as fast at the 160, well near enough - my ZR160 does 0-100 in 19.89 secs and the Golf does it in 21.74 secs. obviously a difference of 1.63 seconds.

This isnt the actual car but look exactly the same (in attachment)

I need to sell the ZR due to debt with my mum so am looking for a car around 2 grand or cheaper and do it up like i am intending to do with this golf.

What do you think? Yes or no?

A grand? Sounds like a bargain to me.
08.03.10 - 3, maybe 4 weeks, and I want my golf back on the road!

155k isnt too bad really, my valver has done 157k and my 8v had done 153k and they run fine. Have a good look through the service history, does it smoke at all?
