hi - i want to relace the stock filter with another brand.
Has anyone got any experience/advive for switching the filter in the existing housing??

K&N or some of the others and to be honest I don't think you'll notice the difference it will make but they do make a difference if only a very small one !

any good autofactors should do them, and aye, it;s a straight swap over for the old paper filter.

go to gsf in worthing and they'll sort you out. i'm pretty sure they do k&n and i'm pretty sure yours is a digifant. basicly if you open the bonnet and there are loads of braided hoses coming off your air box its a k-jet. if not its a digi.
