Was very keen on steel grey too, and first specced it in that, but changed to Diamond soon after

I think we will keep this car standard as its the mrs, and I'm not sure modding a special edition is the right thing to do.

May get a new intake and exhaust though, what do people rate for these items?

Dave

Noisy and droney - give you a headache after a while

I think modding for one of these shouldn't be too bad so long as you can put it back to standard - Still likely to get the black wheels one way or another! But....... i wait to see how good the standard product is first - no point fixing something if it aint broke!

Hey Ollie, you heard anything from Specialist Cars about when your's is getting built?

No it's all been quite from them - maybe there worried about speaking to me after i've been such a pain in the ar#se about the black wheel  - which i've still not heard back about yet.
Maybe also our cars have had their build postponed as we have asked for them in March??

Good news about the heated seats - it must be a problem at VW with cutting and pasting the normal Golf options onto the 30 ed.

Yeah, I thought I might have heard a commission number or something...I guess just have to sit tight and wait to hear!

I've had a response from the Germans saying they have forwarded my details to the main importer (or something along those lines).  Then i got an email from VW uk asking for my address - so i suspect i should be getting something through the mail any time soon (i.e. next 3-4 months by vw std time )

Dont know about you stiggy but i got a letter and a contact person from vw. Lets put it this way, i ask - 'why can't we have the black alloys in the uk' - the letter says........ 'The black alloys are not available for the uk' - well i know that - but how no? The letter does start how VW want to make the 30 ed different from the normal Gti hence the pishcara alloys???? Also it goes onto say that they are not even available for an option. Well here goes when the contact punter from VW is back from his holidays tomorrow -  i'll be on the phone again - If Germany gadgy has an accident in his black wheeled 30ed how does he get a set of black alloys - whats the part No? - If successful anybody want to buy some pish wheels.......???

Also, Also. I have ordered the RCD 500 stereo upgrade pack so you can bet your bottom dollars (is'nt Bush thick!) they there will also be a question about the door rattle issue.......

Sorry for the slight diegression there, been offshore for a while now!

I still haven't received the letter yet but i'm not surprised by the response they gave to be honest ollieb7.  Any luck from contacting the contact?

I had a word with the stealer the other day about when the car would be built and according to her, none of the cars ordered from the uk have gone into production yet!!!  But seeing that my car is coming in March 1st, that should be no problem, right?  Her response....it will be ready for March but can't promise for March 1st delivery!  That was slightly annoying - i hope there's not a huge delay, cause i can barely wait till March in the first place.  I wonder whats going on in that Wolfsburg factory.......

I then went to order a new GTI...........
I changed my mind and eneded up ordering an Edition 30.........

DSG, 5door, Reflex Silver, USB arm rest, Bi-Xenons, Highline comp. HOW MUCH!

Only thing is that i'm now counting the weeks until the 1st of March!

Shame that they are not going to number them. How do you know if they make more?

Bye Bye Edition 30

Well I am sure they aren't going to make more than 1500 even though they aren't numbered - is that 1500 for just the UK or across Europe?  The Mk1 Campaign wasn't numbered but only 1000 of them were sold in the UK.
