coolant warning

hi i have just been to see a 96 gti 8v and it was in great condition. the only problem was that the coolant light was flashing. it didnt overheat and all seemed fine so should i be worried or not. :huh:

 Could be a faulty sensor...but could be more serious, If the seller was serious and cared for the car this problem would of been solved before you came to look......I would avoid unless your 100% happy that it's only minor :wink:

Could be the union that goes on the front of the head. Mine was cracked when I bought mine. It had a small leak that dropped the level, and cos the car was stood for a while it wasn't noticed. I got some cash off cos the light was flashing though!  :wink:
