i recently read a topic on here and the person was telling everyone how they cleaned their car. In the pictures it was a red mk3 golf and later on a down there was a BMW i believe. I want to know the name of the polish they used and also how much it costs. I'm going to give my car a good clean tomorrow after getting it back from having its cambelt done. I hope it covers up little scratches as well.

Anyone can tell me or give me the link to the post i'll be most grateful  :wink:

The name of the polish was ironic, i really cant remember what it was. If no-one knows what it is what do you recommend? I've got some turtule wax but that takes layers of paint off and i dont really want to do that. I want a wax/polish that will shine for a while before needing it doing again.

Well I was gonna answer sooner but another call dropped in and then I loose what I was gonna say...

If it was ironic it coulda been Muc-Off  :laugh: always makes laugh

Otherwise I use Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo, Then Autoglym Super Resin Polish, then Extra Gloss Protection... Usually Shampoo it every weekend then once every 3 months I Resin Polish it, then twice yearly it gets extra gloss ontop of resin polish...

If you want to dry the car quickly get a Autoglym California Style Aqua Blade its like something window washers use but its wickedly wide and just takes all the water straight off the car

As for windows Autoglym Fast Glass or Glass Polish

As for bumpers Autoglym Bumper Car

and then finally Clean Wheels on the alloys if they are really dirty finally finish off with Tyre Shine by CarPlan

Would this work in the engine bay? Gonna be cleaning it out as we are removing the engine and carb  :wink:

Ahh they do Engine Cleaner for cleaning engine (no sh1t) lol

i'll have a look at those, it wasnt muc off, it had boy in it i rekon, not sure.

Have to see about the shampoo, i cant remeber what our shampoo is.

I'm having my engine bay steam cleaned, should get rid of the muck all around it then give it anice polishing.

dont give the engine to steam cleaners! Ive just done my mk2 and am doing the mk3 cab as soon as i finish my tea :cool:

Im using Deisel in a spray bottle. gonna drive to the jet wash and blast the fooka.

costs less than a fiver. dont spray on your battery or alternator even though i do :laugh:

what's wrong with giving it to the stema cleaners :rolleyes:

It'll be all nice and clean then, i need to get it all working and in good order in less than a week so i think it's the best option, and besides i'm not paying.

Isnt the soap or something like bad boy, argh i really dont know but i do know it gives nice results
