VW Body Skirts
« on: 31 December 2003, 12:29 »
Hi

Does anyone have pictures of what the VW front and back skirt looks like for the Mk4 Golf. MY VW dealer, VW Website and VW UK can't show me a picture of what they look like before I buy !

thanks

Duncan

im assuming you mean the replace ment bit for the bottom of the bumper??? normally this is black with a few vents in at the front and jst back at the back, but as an 'extra' they can supply the similar ones to what is on the v6 4motion and the 'anni' model, the rear is colour coded to match and has a cut out for the exhaust pipes i think it is also a 'sportier' shape, the front is very similar to the existing one but has an 'extra' lower bit on with some more vents in this to is a more 'sportier' shape than the orig ones!!, will try and get a pic and post up give me 10 mins!!

thanks for the pics, I have also found one on the AMD Tuning site where it's going to be chipped, VW gave them this pic so this must be a VW one as well.

I can't seem to add a picture so here is the link instead :-

I think they improve the looks no end, my VR6 had them also.

I've booked it in to get them sprayed and fitted in the new year along with a rear spoiler.

i don't think the pictures above are the vw OE skirts.  they are the anniversary, there is a green 1.6se in St Michaels garage in Sittingbourne and this has the vw OE kit on it and the front skirt has a larger more smoothed look, i will try to get  a picture for you.  The car is on an s-plate so it may be the fact that they have changed over the years.
