First of all I don't mean to have a go or cause offense to those I am refering to but it seems quite a lot of people like the idea of having a page on the dub projects section, but after the initial couple of posts there seems very little updates. Look at page 2 of the section and last update is almost 2 months ago...

Does this novelty wear off?

I understand that many dubbers don't have the facilties or oppertunities that myself, ben, joe and lewy (plus others I haven't mentioned) have available, so the work undertaken by themselves is reduced quite a lot, but surely the whole point in having these pages is to show off to the others what we can actually do when armed with a spanner and ratchet?

This post isn't to have a go at anyone or to cause insult and I'm sure someone will have something to say along the lines of my ego, etc, etc, but I do think just by looking at the last updates on some projects this section would be better reserved to those who can keep it fresh and new?

Lastly I'd just like to add I really enjoy reading the majority of posts and updates that appear in the section. :)

like you say not everyone has a garage full of tools to their disposal. Otherpeople may be forced to deal with situations where it will delay any progress, whether it be financially, lack of time or any other means.

p.s I also enjoy reading peoples projects

besides not having the rsources that some of you do have, along with cash/time etc, some people do actually have a life outside of there interest of 'vw's'...(mortgages, children/wifes/girlfriends/familys/holidays/other interests..) . have had projects in there which i asked to have removed after i got rid of the car as it seemed pointless for peeps to follow something i didnt no longer have, was thinking of asking for one to be bunged up of the vr i got, but tbh who'd be interested as its only a fast banger to stop me from getting wet on me bike...

dont think it causes any harm for any dormant projects to be in there... my fave has been rob's mk2 vr6 tbh.. young lad tackeling it blind really, has taken his time, but when the updates came in was a good read...

respect to any one who has had the balls to get there plans etc up there and air them wether theyve done owt since there last post or not.... not like its taking up loads of webspace or anything as there pics etc are hosted by there own means...

keep it up peeps

I will probably hold my hands up to being one for not updating a while... (actually contemplating updating this week)

Going to berlin next week hence pund savin! I gotta say half the work I want to have done to it is gonna be in the hands of someone more qualified but even in thinking this I would still take pics of it whilst its work in progress...

Im one of the lucky ones to have the Mk2 as a straight mess arround car and still have another car to get me to and from work... Be sure to have a look when I post will tell you my mis haps on airbox drilling lol and my plans for the future of the car...

Gotta say I soo want to do that Blue Dash lighting esp since I have chavista white dials but may take these out and swap for black! I love black

Anyways I gotta say I look up to you'z guys and gals who have the knowledge and write the big projects as it gives me great inspiration and a sense that if this person can do this so can I
Who wanna get halfed up by a half wit
Who got a gang a problems
And dont give a half sh!t b!tch

My car has been in the bodyshop for 9 months.  Seems little point in updating the thread with photos of it collecting dust or having small amounts of work done.

Did you update your thread actively whilst your car was at Designa?

I dont do any technical work myself to my golf as I really gont have the knowledge or the resources, this is why I keep my updates to the dub rides section, rather than ask for a project page. I think for people like me it is a much better option. It also gives the opportunity to get feedback too.

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Been slow on updating my thread I must admit, but my project is going to take a while anyway, mostly due to funds priorities,
I'm in the middle of house improvements and new central heating and a bathroom don't come cheap!

I could post a thread up about that, but I doubt it'd be very interesting!

I do have plans, but most of them are going to be done over the winter months hopefully, get the car in good shape for next years meets and shows...

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.
