Then why in pictures do you see a t piece used in the high pressure oil cooler hole?

Well, either in the pics its an 8v which is where the MFA sender is, or thats just where they decied to put it.  Either way works fine, but on the oil filter housing space is limited, especailly if the sensor hole ends up pointing in an awkward direction.

Personally I'd prefer my oil pressure switches to be as close to the oil flow as possible, I'd imagine the oil flow in the T piece might be restricted and give a false reading oil temp wont be so badly affected...

Well actually, if it was me I'd get a MK3 oil filter housing with 3 holes in the oil filter housing for the neatest possible solution.  Oh wait, thats what I did, only mine had a 2.0 bottom end attached to it

aye, the guages work a treat, however today on the way to ed38 i had a panic attack when the oil pressure warning buzzer went off.... i stopped to check under the bonnet, there was no sign of oil leaks anywhere, so assumed there must be an issue with the conversion from original sender to VDO sender...?

Checked the oil level when I got to ed38, and it hadn't used a drop  :undecided:

So, has anyone else encountered this with VDO guages, and if so, what did you do about it?

P.S. it only happens at low revs, when the oil pressure reading on the VDO guage is around that in the pic above

how low were the revs?  I find my oil light flickers sometimes when the revs drops below 900 (which only happens when my car is playing up, it happend once when the idle switch wires snapped and another time when I didn't do the alternator wire up tight enough  :embarassed:)
I've had my VDO sender on the car since I finished the 2.0 conversion and its not set the buzzer off once, though mine replaced the low pressure switch.

In fact, since your VDO sender replaces the high 1.8 bar switch, it shouldn't be anything to do with it since that sender only comes into play above 2k rpm!

You defo removed the white sensor with the yellow wire?

hmm, well its nothing to do with the VDO sensor you replaced, check the wiring to the other sensor is ok!
