Get to test drive the new gti on Sunday.
« on: 30 August 2006, 11:44 »
Unfortunately accompanied and not a 24 hour test drive but still I have just had a phone call from the local VW dealers and they have a 3 door in at the moment and I'm down to test drive it early afternoon Sunday.

What's everybody else think of them? (I'm a mk2 owner/enthusiast)

Comfy - comfortable (adjective): being in a state of physical or mental comfort; contented and undisturbed; at ease.

Hmmm... typical new car with major blind spots and no feeling for the road then?

Still, worth a trip to supermarket with baby etc for blag.

I think that it depends on the power output/value of the car in question.  Think that the Gti is 25, lot of others are 21.

Will find out more for you on Sunday.

Doesn't matter what you turn up in, they have to treat you as if you're going to buy the car. I wasn't 25 when I took a GTI out, they never even asked me my age and I can pass for 19.

suppose not but they might want to talk figures first and not let me drive one till i have semi-commited myself.

My mate had an RS focus look-a-like, it was identical, even had the interior and dials from an RS. He pulled up to a ford dealership to collect parts for his focus and the salesman spotted him parking up and offered him a test drive in an ST when the come out (this is going back about 6 months or more). He said is that your car or is it ur dads, he was like "no its mine", the salesman was bewildered when he told him he was 19 with an RS (even though it wasnt)!

My little sis has been offered a R32 to test drive for two days buy a well known organisation - All she has to do is write a 150 word article about it afterwards -

Guess who is gonna be taking it out for a test drive??
