Good specialist in the North??
« on: 29 August 2006, 14:26 »
Help! Got a SEAT Leon TDi with the Mk4 ASV engine.......(I know it's not a golf but I've got a Mk2 GTi 8v to make up for that!).

Need to get timing belt and water pump replaced asap but I ain't got the time (or decent weather) to do this one myself.

Anyone recommend a decent specialist in the North?

Doesn't matter whether it's East or West as I'm stuck in the middle (near Penrith).

Carlisle or Stockton area's but willing to travel for the right recommendation.

Roughly what sort of price are we talking for this? First place I tried quoted £240-ish

Try Ron Turnbull in Middlesbrough. They have been in the game for years and know their VAG stuff well. Also prices are very resonable, especially if you are not pushed for time.

Also there is Volkswerk next door but have not used them before?

Cheers for the responses guys. Normally I'd do this myself but the Cumbrian weather is so unstable at the moment and the garage is full of Fiat Coupe in bits so I need to shell out and get someone else to do the job (I hate paying but it needs done). Can't name and shame the dealer who did our last one, or rather didn't  Two weeks after allegedly being changed at a main dealer the belt snapped
