« on: 28 August 2006, 21:54 »
guys as some of you know im selling my bug but i have been contacted by a swiss guy wanting to buy it
here is the email traffic i just want your opinions on if it is genuine or should i avoid? my gut says avoid.....
it starts with my latest reply u need to read the middle first lol  all the sh!t in red is the email stuff.........

Hello Owen,

In all honesty i would like some verification that this is a genuine offer. no offence but there have been some fraud on the internet so iam a bit wary. if you are genuine then you wont take offence, perhaps some contact details for your shipping agent? or perhaps your full address and phone number in switzerland?

i have no problem selling the car to someone outside the country but i hope you can understand i want to be sure this is a genuine offer.

i will look forward to your response

Hello Owen
Thanks for your enquiry

The beetle has an mot till may next year (07) it has a little rust blemish about the size if a 20p coin on the bottom edge of one of the wings and other than the bodywork is solid and it certainly doesnt need any welding, its good to drive now!

here are links to photos i will add them as attachments aswell, if u want any photos of anything specific let me know and i will sort that out for you.

im looking for offers around 2250

one of them is really small sorry i dunno why photobucket resized it?!?!

There is some sevice history and all bar 3 old mots, it is a solid car i brought it because the car was so solid and im more concerned with bodywork than mechanicals cos body work is £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£ to sort properly. as far as problems go it needs a new heater control cable for the rear footwell flaps, a new bulb in the dash and thats it! it is on the original engine which has done 44000 miles. im selling it because im at university and wanted a car and i have always wanted a beetle so got one cos i dont do many miles at all. but recently for my placements im doing round trips of an hour everyday and i dont wanna put miles and miles on it. i just bought it at the wrong time lol cos i was impatient!

hope this helps and that the links etc work ok any more questions etc email or ring, i can take more photos if you want of anything specific.

could you just let me know where u saw the advert?

a girl at work advertised her and got emails from some guy in Austria I think which turned out to be a time waster. I wouldnt bother with it mate. If he is in the trade of buying and selling cars then surely its not going to be very cost effective to have to pay for thr car then have to pay for it to be shipped. Plus then when it gets there it will have the steering wheel on the wrong side so will be hard to shift. That is assuming that switzerland drives on the opposite side to us.
