I guess this is not the 1st time you have seen this topic & definitely not gonna be the last. A lot of discussions have taken place about the DSG's limitation pertaining to chipped GTIs especially in other GTI's forum.
If you look at various tuning firms chipped power output & torque figures ie. Oettinger, MTM, Morego, Revo, APR & so forth. The figures they have quoted are more or less the same.
However when it comes to torque figures, Oettinger & Morego will specifically say that torque will be limited due to DSG. Oettinger 310PS conversion (with bigger turbo) will limit torque to 390NM for DSG cars & 400NM for manual. Morego will say that there will be torque limitations on their "270" conversion but no figures quoted.
If I am not mistaken I have read it somewhere that the DSG is good for 350NM & the DSG's software is self limiting so no matter how much torque you dial in, it is going to limit iteslf to about 350NM or so.
Guys who have their DSG / GTIs chipped please share your thoughts with me on this. TQ
