Any Body know how fast the MK2 goes?

I've had mine bout 118 with more to go but would of been pointless as my clocks only go to 120   but mines not the best example of a mk2 8v I've seen lol an it did start to take it's time after 110, but it got there quick enough.

Original VW listed top speed of a mk2 8v is 115mph. Note that the speedo is likely to be at least 10% out - VW figures will have been measured properly - so when you are trying these top speeds 120 is more like 108 or so.

ive had me golf off the clock which is 120 as you already now this could be out as jv said but its still quite fast for a golf and ive clocked just under 8 secs 0-60 .......

That's pretty fast, what spec is your car? Have you modified it?

Golfs nomally get slightly quicker as they pile on the miles because of the engine losening up, most get faster when the mileage is into 6 figures, Its worth remember though that good 0-60 time are down to the drivers ability to launch it with just the right amount of wheel spin, and not to over rev it through the gears. On an 8V for example, its pointless reving past 5500rpm in any gear except top, as the torque curve has started to trail off, so the incraese is engine speed  slows.

It basically means that Har1ss can drive, and drive well.....But I wonder how he is at taking corners?
