somebody please help me before i take a sledge hammer car  :angry: :angry:

right every now and again the turbo almost cuts out as if its in a safety mode or something iv just replaced the air sensor as thought that was the problem but it still does it  :cry: its a AUM engine on a 2001 Y-Reg its done 70,000 miles its had its fault code read as the engine management light came on when the air sensor packed up but has no other codes comin up :undecided: any help would be excellent  :grin:

are you running a boost gauge in the car?

hard to say without seeing the car and experiencing the type of power loss you're talking about.

is it just when you boot it ? (could be boost hose collapsing)

you sure its the turbo ? (coilpacks are an issue)

is it intermittant and sorts itself out or do you have to restart the car to fix it ? (limp mode could be kicking in - safety feature)

try to explain a bit more and someone here might have an answer

right it can do it any time and if you switch off and then restart the car its fine again which leads me to believe its something electrical. but had a look in the common faults section on it said about a faulty EGR? not sure what one of them is  :undecided: and a N75 boost control valve :smiley:

definitely worth finding someone with vagcom then to find the fault, otherwise you could spend £Â£Ã‚£'s replacing parts that are working fine.

sorry for late reply dont get much time on pc  :undecided: been havin a chat with the guys at jabba sport and pretty much sorted out its the boost control valve  :smiley: and has anyone attempted to fit a boost guage in the ash tray????  just one of my lil ideas  :grin:
