My 16valver is quite fast, not really pushed it yet, did 120 in it the ther day tho, and had loads left in it.

The later ones pumps out approx. 160bhp so i am told!!

Mines fast anyways :)

If its of any help to you, mine costs me ?420 a year fully comp with tesco's, that with 8 years ncd and me bird on it as a named driver to!

Make sure you check the engine for signs of boy racer abuse tho!  Had mine for 4 months now and am very happy with it!!!

Hope this helps

later ones pump out 160bhp?! .. mines one of the last ones really...

it is damn quick... i've been 135 and theres still more go in it.. when its safe i'll max it out.. then i'll be pleased with it.. i'm also runnin optimax now.. seems nicer after a few loads in there :)

i woulda got a '6 if it werent for the insurance.. i reckon you'll be lucky to get a quote at under ?1200 - ?1400 for a '6..

ohh and dont get a 'family car' like mrwotto's :P hehe..

(ohh and mrwotto.. clean ya wheels!!)

argg!.. the 16v like everyones been saying in this thread.. the 8v is a dog..

and the insurance companys dont seem to notice the increase in power between the two that much ;)

8v - 115 bhp
16v - 150 bhp
vr6 - 174/175 bhp

no brainer really :)

at your age+experience you should be able to get 16v insurance for between around 700 - 800quid

yeah october for me, theres been 'myths' about age brackets like, 21, 25,30 and so on but to be honest age hasnt got fack all to do with it, its driving experience and no claims discount!!! well from what i can gather!!!!! ::)

.......its a combination of things as mentioned by Kniterider. Hitting the big 30 does help tho.

I recently paid 385squid, for my M reg 16v - thats with no claims protection and the missis on it too - living in Surrey helps.

31 in two weeks, woo hoo!!
