New Member needs help advice

Hi all please to meet you!!
I've got an old merc at moment and went to look at S reg (98 plate) golf 1.8 GTI black with full leather recaro interior its imaculate done 79,000 miles full VW sdervice history been serviced at VW dealership from new. The dealer is selling for £4995 going for test ride tomorrow and going to put a deposit on it if I like it.

Please help me what should I look for eg faults and things and is it worth the money any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site.  I'd suggest doing a search through the mk4 section first to look for common faults. You could also put a thread in there and people will post up their experience.
