trouble removing hub from driveshaft cv

can any one help im having trouble trying to remove the hub from the cv joint as i need to change the bearings ,ive disconnected every thing as you need to but the hub wont come away ive hit it with a hammer and tried a extracter on it but its not moving can any one help its a nightmare

If its an early gti/vr6 then you won't get it out 
I tried using a hub puller, but the universal type won't fit properly, you will need something that is flat.
Otherwise use a heat, but you will probably kill the wheel bearing doing this.

The reason why you are having trouble is there is 2 slots on the cv joint, that are filled with loctite, this only applies to early mk3 models.
What are you changing ? the cv joint or wheel bearing?

i need to change the wheel bearing but cant get the hub off ,cant see why it just wont slide off

It won't slide off because the cv joint has 2 slots, filled with loctite at factory. This goes rock solid, so its like having 2 big circlips on the shaft, so it won't move for sh!t.
If you are changing the bearing, then heat the end up, nice and hot, that should soften the loctite, and the shaft should come out when you tap it.
