Faded mk3 Anniversary seats
« on: 18 August 2006, 16:36 »
Hi peeps, I've only just found the site, do apologise.

Owner of a Mk3 8v Anniversary model in red with 71,000 (just turned) miles.

Any idea what i can do to bring the front seats up to stratch again, due to the age and wear they are starting to fade. These are the checkered red/blue 'GTI' logo'd seat centres. Its mainly the drivers seat that is suffering. Apart from this the rest of the interior is unmarked including the red stitching in the steering wheel and gear level gater.

As a seperate issue my front bumper textured top half is really scuffed on the corners (previous owner was a woman by all accounts ). Can this be bought seperately from the main bumper or do i have to obtain the whole front bumper unit?

Bet they're just dirty mate.... Get some Groom from Halfrauds and follow the instructions TO THE LETTER. You'll be surprised. While you're allowing your wallet to be molested in the shop, get some autoglym Bumper Care Gel and use it on the textured tops. They come up a treat. You wont be disappointed!

And apology accepted.

Nice one bazzer, looks like a painfull trip to Halfrauds will have to be on the cards very shortly. I've noticed this faded seat issue on another Anny model near me (i was absolutely amazed to find another locally due to the limited number) so perhaps due to the possible checker patterned seats, these may not be as hardwearing as the standard GTI front seats.
