What are...

The 2 pannels that look like grills behind the bumper and below the grill called? I noticed the nearside one one my mk1 is missing. Anyone know where I can get one from?

Thanks,

They're for winter to block off some of the cold air coming under the bonnet so the car can warm up quicker in cold conditions  :smug:

They're not that important, my last 3 mk1's didn't have them at all and I never had any problems

Thanks guys, does anyone know where I can get one? My car now feels uneven!  What would I type into ebay if I was going to look for one on there?

Thanks,

G

I may be wrong but I think there's only meant to be one on the oil cooler side

Thats what I thought before I got down to your post.. I think your right.

Gem, try searching lower front panel air intake... if there handed though, that could mean that they're unavailable for the N/S!

Someone mentioned "Slam panel" thats the panel that holds the bonnet lock, easy to remember really, its the panel that the bonnet slams against when closing...
