I got the braided hoses fitted on my car. To be honest they don't make a huge difference, unless the hoses you have at the moment are old and worn.
I have also had problems adapting the goodridge hoses to fit the car, as they touch the inner arch. The standard hoses are fitted with rubber grommets to stop the hoses rubbing on the body, the goodridge hoses are not.
With hindsight, i wouldn't have bothered paying the extra money for them. Then saying that anything on a mk1 might be worth considering as the brakes are poor, but on a mk3 you probably don't need them.
