im on a new lappy but ill try and find it, lay out is same as mk2 16 all be it efi and with a coil pack, but each plug has a lead same as 16 and it has been done, removed the rubber bung from the head, ther inlet cam has a key in it to fit a dizzy (mine did anyway.. i should know i took it to bits enough) and the threads in the block for the dizzy to be mounted..then a normal coil was fitted with a vacum advance (same as you would running a mk2 16 on carbs with out ecu...) not hard really if you know how a basic engine works then you should be able to figure it out really....
ill find a link and pass it on.. but its reall ,, i was that fecked off with the lack of power from my 1.8 20v n/a i wnet world wide to find a reasonable increase in horsepower at not alot of cost....
i do believe the peeps that did your 1st engine conversion also put one on carbs in a mk1??
oh yeah, even though the vvt solenoid is discontected full use of the 20'vs was used and they were on about adding one that was operated at certain revs.
