fuel pump linked to horn??
« on: 13 August 2006, 19:25 »
Also, (this has been going on a while), when I press the horn, I can hear the fuel pump? Is that normal? How can the fuel pump be connected to the horn? Everything on my car seems to be connected up wrong! Any ideas anyone?

It's easily solved:

1 – Take the whole car apart, carfully labelling each and every nut, bolt, washer and screw.
2 – Rebuild, putting everything in its proper place.

Any probs, just post a message.

interesting, do you mean when you press the horn the pump gets louder?  Check any wiring near the steering column, and check the earth at the bottom in the engine bay.  Then try pulling the horn fuse, then the relay & try again, see if it still does it.

If it does I'd suspect dodgy wiring near the fusebox, or poor earthing somewhere.
