Most rolling roads will not be insured for your engine failures, thats your problem, if it not strong enough, dont run it!  And will make you sign a for basically saying this, managed to do the bottom end on my scirocco last year on one! All fixed and been back on, was fine this time!

Wat sort of power people getting out of there standard Gti's, 8v or 16v?
2 Mk2's, both in bits, 2 Rocco's soon to become 1, and a Polo 1.3.....
The polo is the only car with MOT and in working order...Doh!!

Hi guys,

Excuse my ignorance, i have just purchased a 16V GTI and she is running a bit rough on idle and she doesn't seem as fast as she ought too.

Is a rolling road the only way to properly get her  tuned up? Are there any other options?

And how much, on average, do these tune ups cost?

Maybe we can get a group of us going and get a discount?

There are a few guides on how to set the car up properly, so it runs sweet.  A rolling road is necessary to get the very best out of it though as they can test the engine under load at various speeds :)
